The Lutheran Church - Missouri SynodChrist the King is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. "Synod" means walking together. The Missouri Synod is an organization of Lutheran churches that agree to walk together in matters of Scripture and doctrine.
Think that's a long name? We used to be called the German Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States, but we shortened it to its present form in 1947.
